The Lafayette Corvette Club participates in many social and community activities.  We love to be a part of the community and share our love for Corvettes with everyone.

2023 Homecomings

We support our local schools by providing the homecoming court with their presentation during their homecoming game.  The court gets to ride in a club member’s Corvette around the track at the halftime of the game.

This year we participated at Carroll, Harrison, Lafayette Jeff, McCutcheon, and Twin Lakes. If you would like to have us in your homecoming, please send us an email!

Parades and Festivals

Our club members participated in several parades and festivals this year. We carried the 4H Fair queens for the Carroll County 4H Fair, helped celebrate the Earl Park Fall Festival, and carried the queen’s court at the Attica Heritage Days.

LCC Autocross

Our club had a chance to introduce many of our members to an Autocross event. For many members, this was their first time to experience a precision driving course in their Corvette. We spent the day at the Grissom Air Reserve Base where everyone had a chance to drive the course and experience what their Corvettes can do. This was a non-competitive event focused on learning about our cars and getting a chance to experience what driving in an Autocross is like.

2023 Road Trip

Our annual road trip was to the Triple Nickel in Ohio aka Ohio’s Tail of the Dragon. It was a great trip with many club members joining us. We toured the Ohio State Reformatory, drove the Triple Nickel (more than once!), visited the Blennerhassett Island Historical State Park, ate some great food, and enjoyed a lot of fellowship. One evening we had a chance to visit with Rick “Corvette” Conti which made it on his YouTube channel.

Monthly Socials

Each month, one or more of our members host a social for the club. This may be a dinner together, a trip to an event, a cookout, or our annual Independence Day celebration. It’s a great time that often involves a drive and meal as well as time to enjoy our cars, each other’s company, and often a chance to share our Corvettes with others.

Vettes for Vets

Every year we co-sponsor the Vettes for Vets to support our local Veterans at the Indiana Veterans’ Home here in West Lafayette. This is the only Veterans’ Home in the state. This event is both a fundraiser and a car show for our veterans. The money raised goes 100% for the Veteran’s needs (things that the state does not provide). We plan this for the first Saturday in May annually, and we welcome other Corvette clubs to join us. You can check out the 2024 flyer here.

Corvette Indy Vettes N Vets

We love supporting our Veterans and other clubs. We took 23 cars to the 2022 Corvette Indy Vettes N Vets and had a great time. Our club won the Best Participation for an Indiana Club award and four club members won awards. The proceeds from this fundraiser go to support Pets Healing Vets which funds and matches a support dog with a Veteran for a win/win situation!

2022 Road Trip

Our 2022 road trip focused on Route 66! We traveled the historic road from northern Illinois to west of St. Louis. Along with driving Route 66, we also drove part of the Great River Road and ate lunch on the banks of the Mississippi, visited sites around St. Louis including the Gateway Arch, Meramac Caverns, Grant’s Farm which houses some of the Clydesdales, as well as the Ulysses S. Grant National Historic Site. We got to see lots of history, as well as sharing a wonderful time with everyone that went on the trip.

50th Anniversary Club Celebration

2021 was the 50th anniversary of the Lafayette Corvette Club. We got together to celebrate the history of our club by honoring our founding members. We had a special guest speaker from the Corvette plant who talked about the C8 production and what is going on at the plant. He couldn’t share any insider info but it was great to hear details from a person that is very involved in the C8 production.

2021 Blanket Run

The Indy Blanket Run was December 4. Several members attended the event and brought donations for the homeless. We then had the chance to visit several custom car shops around Indianapolis and saw some great builds. If you get a chance to attend and support this great cause, it comes highly recommended! Blanket Run 2022 will be held on Saturday, 12/3/2022!

2021 Donations

Our club is a non-profit and we donate to local causes to support them. For 2021, we donated to:

  • Grant’s House
  • Isaiah House
  • Indiana Region NCCC Scholarship Fund
  • Clothe-a-Child
  • Loving Hearts Animal Shelter

2021 Road Trip

Our road trip this year was a wonderful 6 days touring Michigan. We started at the Ford Museum in Detroit, stopped at the Forty Mile Pointe Lighthouse, USS Silversides, Windmill Island/de Zwaan Windmill, and spent 2 days around Mackinac Island.  The trip back went through the Tunnel of Trees and a stop at the Coast Guard Museum. It was a great trip with great people and some beautiful roads to drive!

Road Trips

Our annual road trips have been a great way for our members to enjoy spending time together, as well as enjoying our Corvettes. Previous road trips have included the Tail of the Dragon, Gatlinburg, National Corvette Museum, Dayton Air Museum, and the Back of the Dragon.

Parades

This year we took a caravan of Corvettes to the Earl Park Fall Festival to help them celebrate their 50th anniversary, and plan to continue this tradition with them!  We also help our friends from CCOI in driving the Heritage Days Parade in Attica every year!
